Independence Day
When I ponder about the partition of India,
It got enslaved by the British monarchy in 1947.
Battles were fought and blood was shed,
Lives were lost and freedom fighters were massacred.
Freedom came with a very heavy price of life & sacrifice,
War ruined everything, neither it is pretty nor wise.
Laxmi Bai, Shivaji Maharaj, Bhagat Singh,
Chandrashekhar Azad, Mahatma Gandhi
are the ideals who paid unconditional love for this nation.
Some of them can't be mislayed for their dreadful hecatomb
At the peak comes, Veer Savarkar, Yogeshwar Shukla, Batukeshwar
Dutt, who were kept in prison when India was opposing slavery.
We are grateful to almighty who graced us with nerves of steel
to attain our thread of enchainment from britishers.
Every year we pay our tribute to our freedom fighters on this pious
day, Who sacrificed their pristine lives for our sovereignity.
