Students from Bhartiya Vidya Mandir, Eroor Visit Bhavan Vidyalaya, Panchkula

The cultural exchange program between Bhavan Vidyalaya, Panchkula and Bhavan Vidya Mandir, Eroor has been a tremendous success fostering cultural understanding, friendship and learning experiences for the students involved. From 27 August 2023 to 2 September 2023, a group 20 students and 4 teachers from BVM Eroor visited our school, engaging in a variety of activities that showcased our rich cultural diversity.
The BVM, Eroor team had the opportunity to explore our cultural landmarks like Gurudwara Nada Sahib, Mansa Devi Temple, Yavnika Park, Cactus Garden, Rock Garden, Sukhna Lake etc. This helped them gain insight into our local heritage and history.
The highlights of the program were the special assemblies organized by both the schools. The students from BVM Eroor showcased their talents by performing traditional dances from North and South. To encourage cultural exchange and learning, workshops were arranged where students from both schools could learn from each other. The students from South had the opportunity to learn Bhangra and Haryanvi dance steps. This not only promoted cultural exchange but also helped the students develop a deeper appreciation for different dance forms. The students from Eroor also learnt our traditional art forms like sculpture making and "phulkari".
Beyond dance, students engaged in language exchange activities, allowing them to learn basic phrases and greetings in each other's languages. This was a valuable experience that enhanced communication and understanding.
Exploring cultural diversity also included a culinary journey. Students from BVM Eroor got a taste of our local cuisine. The program fostered strong bonds of friendship between students from both schools. They shared stories, experiences and laughter, enriching their lives with the joy of cross-cultural connections. The highlights were the celebrations of Onam and Rakshabandhan which dissolved all the boundaries and promoted the bond of unity and brotherhood.
The cultural exchange program with BVM Eroor has been a resounding success. It not only exposed our students to new cultural experiences but also allowed them to showcase the rich traditions of our region. This program has reinforced the importance of cultural understanding and global friendships among our students.
