Quality Circle Of Teachers

APOSTLES

Harbingers of Quality

Quality circles is an innovative concept introduced in our school to orient, engage and empower the staff and students with problem solving attitude. Series of techniques to solve problems which they face on day to day basis are amicably resolved through collaborative team work.

Bhavan Vidyalaya, Panchkula has initiated the Quality Circle named ‘APOSTLES: Harbingers of Quality’ which is the first ever venture of its kind all across most of the schools in India. The group comprises of eight teachers from different departments of the school with a basic aim to identify the problems faced, there by working upon it and hence solving it. This all is being done under the mentorship of the school Principal Mrs. Gulshan Kaur who is formally training and facilitating the teachers during weekly meetings held every Tuesday and Thursday.

In these meetings, the teacher trainees receive training in formal problem-solving methods—such as brain-storming, Pareto analysis, and cause-and-effect diagrams—and are then encouraged to apply these methods either to specific or general school problems. After completing an analysis, they will present their findings to management and then handle implementation of approved solutions.

Quality Circle APOSTLES started its working on July 18, 2017 with the following objectives:

  • Bringing about a change in the attitude of teachers by improving the quality of work life.
  • Teaching additional skills to teachers and bringing out their hidden potential.
  • Developing a team spirit in the organization and reducing conflict between departments.
  • Involving people at different levels in finding a solution to a problem.
  • Improving the motivational level of teachers and students.
  • Providing teachers with an improved working environment.

We are all working towards its gradual progress and implementation with the students as well in the days to come. This will equip them with a problem solving skill which is the need of the hour and which will help them grow as responsible global citizens and empathetic human beings.

After successfully furnishing and presenting the first phase i.e. “Identification of Problem” in front of the Management on 5th September, we started working on its second stage using quality improvement tools 5W1(Why, What, When, Where, Who ,How?

We gather for a meeting with Principal Madam every Monday. Under her mentorship and guidance, we prepared a questionnaire containing 20 questions and got it filled from the students of classes VII to IX.

On the basis of its analysis, a graph has been created which gave us an insight into the number of students who have the habit of bunking classes on the pretext of school activities.

We have steered into the stage “Why-Why Analysis” .We look forward to start taking measures once the root causes through the analysis is figured out.Our Next and final presentation will be given after that.
