July. This remarkable event aimed to instill the values of environmental stewardship and civic responsibility among young minds.
The tree plantation campaign, titled "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" was recently launched by the Hon’ble Prime Minister on World Environment Day, celebrated on June 5, 2024. The Prime Minister has emphatically urged everyone to contribute towards making our planet greener and healthier. He highlighted that, over the last decade, India has seen a significant increase in forest cover thanks to collective efforts across the country, aligning with our national quest for sustainable development.
The drive at Bhavan Vidyalaya saw students and staff members enthusiastically planting saplings around the school premises and in areas, in and around Panchkula. The initiative was met with great zeal and enthusiasm as each participant actively engaged in the plantation process under the guidance of environmental experts. This campaign is part of the school’s broader mission to adopt sustainable practices and raise awareness about the importance of trees in maintaining ecological balance.
Our revered Principal, Ms Gulshan Kaur expressed her heartfelt gratitude towards all the participants and supporters of the campaign. "We are incredibly proud of our students and staff for their dedication to such a noble cause. This campaign is not just about planting trees; it’s about nurturing a culture of sustainability and responsibility towards our environment,” said Ms Gulshan Kaur.
The event also included several educational activities such as a pledge on Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam, a talk on the importance of trees, hands-on sessions on planting techniques, and creating awareness about the detrimental effects of deforestation. These activities aimed to provide a comprehensive understanding of environmental conservation and the critical role, trees play in our ecosystem.
Bhavan Vidyalaya's sincere efforts to contribute towards a greener planet were applauded by parents, local community members, and environmental organizations. The school management is committed to conducting further initiatives in the future, emphasizing the importance of collective action in environmental conservation and sustainability.
