Bhavan Vidyalaya, Panchkula, hosted Annual Kulwant Singh Literary Fest on December 21 and 22, 2023 in remembrance of Founder Chairman Shri Kulwant Singh ji on his Birth Anniversary. The revered founder Chairman was a true connoisseur of literature and deeply passionate about fostering a love for reading among the students.
To mark the beginning of this grand event, well-planned intra-school literary activities such as Poetry composition, Precis writing, Picture composition, Comic strip making were organized for different grades.
Under the able guidance of Honourable Chairman Justice G.C Garg,the intellectually stimulating event began on 21 December with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp followed by the screening of a documentary, highlighting the vision of this great stalwart along with glimpses of last year’s Literary Fest.The event was graced by esteemed members of the Kendra Committee.The keynote speaker Mr.Vivek Atray (ex IAS, Author,TEDx Speaker & Mentor) inspired the students to focus intensively on the art of writing.
‘Abhivyakti- an E-treasure of Creative Expressions’ a compilation of literary works of parents, students and teachers and another book titled ‘Mastering Digital Art’ authored by Shilpi Saxena (the school’s talented art teacher) was released by Vice Chairman Shri A.N Mathur.
Two-day event encompassed a series of interactive sessions, riveting discussions, and enriching workshops. The enlightening thoughts of renowned literarians like N Chandra (Indian film writer, director and producer), Ira Pande (author, editor and educationist), Vineet Panchhi (poet, filmmaker and voice actor), Surjit Patar (Punjabi language writer and poet) & Zoya Singh (artist and storyteller) created quite a spur among the learners, awakening their latent creativity. Furthermore, students participated in various engaging workshops conducted by eminent resource persons such as Ms. Lily Swarn(Internationally acclaimed multilingual poet,author);Dr. Devyani(Editor of an education magazine); Shubhangi ( content and short story writer):Radhika Anand(author);Nikkasha Luthre(Playwright,Poet); Sandeep Joshi(Political Cartoonist, The Tribune)Shantanu Mishra(Sub-Editorat India.com):Inayat Kapoor (Content Writer,Debator) The exciting event was a literary feast for students, parents and educators as they explored the world of books through a theme-based Book Fair.
The Principal Gulshan Kaur expressed her happiness on the successful completion of the purposeful event encouraging young minds to connect with their favourite authors and lending credence to the power of books.
