The 9th edition of the Parliamentary Debate Championship (PDC) recently concluded at Bhavan Vidyalaya Panchkula, following a two-day program that showcased the intellectual prowess of over 300 participants from the Tricity and surrounding areas, divided into teams of three. The championship commenced on 17 August 2024 with an inaugural ceremony, graced by esteemed dignitaries, including Principal Mrs. Gulshan Kaur, Vice Principal Mrs. Sonia Pabby, Ms. Anita Ranjan, and Jr. Coordinator Mrs. Radhika Bhatia. The opening ceremony featured a rich cultural program, comprising an opening video, Ganesh Vandana, dance performance, and band display, setting the tone for the event. In her address, Principal Mrs. Gulshan Kaur underscored the significance of debating for principles rather than mere victory, emphasizing the importance of intellectual rigor and critical thinking. Throughout the championship, participants engaged in intense debates on various thought-provoking themes, demonstrating their exceptional critical thinking, research, and public speaking skills. The championship culminated with the announcement of the winners, with Team IND 10, comprising Daksh, Shaurya and Aryamann, emerging as the Winning Team. The Runner's Up Team consisted of Mannat Sangha, Vaibhavi and Swanvi. Samridhi Singh was declared the Best Speaker, while Rohan Singh proved to be the best Adjudicator. The closing ceremony featured a closing video, marking the formal conclusion of the championship.
