BHAVAN CHETNA VIDYALAYA, PANCHKULA
SESSION 2022-23

  • Holi celebrations with Chetna students on 17th MARCH 2022: Students celebrated the festival of colours with Principal ma’am. Few Students performed dances and thoroughly enjoyed the festival. Sweets were distributed to each child.

  • HOLI CELEBRATIONS
  • Session began for students of Chetna group from 7th April 2022 with 29 students. Around 29 students who joined the Vidyalaya were from different age groups. Each and every child filled an admission form and submitted their adhar card for school records.
  • World book day celebrated with NSS students on 25th April 2022: Students of NSS encouraged each child to read and write and grow. They donated and distributed drawing books and crayons to each child. Students enjoyed learning aboutWorld Book Day.

  • Art & craft class by Mr Naveen on 26th April 2022: cfA workshop on paper craft was conducted for students where they learnt to make flowers and Xmas tree. Students were happy and excited to learn paper craft. Each child learnt to make a flower himself/herself. Few tried making Xmas tree which the little ones found difficult to make.
  • Registration of every child with Government school and NIOS: Students registered with Government Model Sr. Secondary school for Girls, sector 15, Panchkula and 4 students registered with NIOS for X class and 2 students for XII class.
  • Donation Drive started with staff members from 8th April 2022: A message was sent to all staff members making them aware of Chetna school run in evening in school premises for underprivileged children in school premises at 3pm to 5pm. All staff members were requested to give humble donations /contributions for these students so that their basic requirements of stationery are met. For cash- a donation box is kept in the staff room where the staff members can contribute generously on their special days. The amount donated is deposited with the school accounts office for time-to-time expenditure during festivals, celebrations for these students.
  • Staff members were also requested to give their services on a weekly basis for teaching these students with their area of expertise.

  • Adult education launched on 30th April 2022 on account of Labour Day: All Grade IV members celebrated Labour Day in school premises wherein Vice Principal Ms Sonia Pabby conveyed heartfelt gratitude to the entire team for supporting in all aspects of school life. Students of NSS sang songs in their praise like “Saathi hath badana”, “Hum Hongekamyab” etc. Sweet boxes and Juiceswas distributed to all. On this day, under the able guidance of Principal Ms Gulshan Kaur, Headmistress Ms Anita Ranjan and Chetna School coordinator Mr Kanwarpreet announced the launch of Adult Education and called for all support staff member to learn and grow in society. 10 Support staff enrolled on first day for the classes.

  • Bhavan Chetna school registered as NGO on 6th May 2022 with the Collaboration with INDIAN DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION (IDF) whose Director is Mr. Narayan A B Iyer.
  • Adult education first class commenced on 9th May 2022:

Bhavan Vidyalaya initiates Adult Education

On occasion of Labour Day, Principal Ms Gulshan Kaur launched and announced Adult education program for School’s Grade IV employees and invited all who yearned to upgrade themselves. Their regular classes commenced from 9th May 2020. On day 1 there were 10 employees who joined the class and now 6 are continuously learning and growing every day. A very beautiful initiative taken up to upgrade and up skill our own employees. Though the journey seems to be far and long, the employees are enthusiastic and looking forward to clear class X from open school. On 9th May 2022, 10 support staff joined classes. Notebooks and pencils were distributed to each one. Principal Ms Gulshan Kaur initiated the first class and taught them about English letter of alphabet and Hindi Swars and Vyanjans

  • Got the proposal from NGO- Himalayan club trust for the collaboration with Bhavan’s Chetna Vidyalaya on 23rd May 2022 and the volunteers from the club started helping students in their studies from 30th May 2022: Volunteers from Himalayan club started working with the students for their all-round development and studies. The volunteers have divided the group according to their age group and conduct sessions for students. Students of class X have started gaining knowledge about computers as well. The volunteers are conducting training in dance, art and craft, self-defence etc.

  • Self-defence training by Mr Navraj from Himalayan club on 18th July 2022: Students learnt techniques for self-defence and practised these with the trainer. They thoroughly enjoyed the session and learnt to defend themselves in times of need. Mr Navraj also gave an insight about good and bad touch and when to raise alarm.
  • Volunteers of Himalayan club conducted a drawing workshop on 21st July 2022 :Students learnt about drawing techniques and learnt to make scenery and the younger ones learnt to colour correctly. Students enjoyed expressing themselves freely and made beautiful drawings.
  • Learning through Fun games activity conducted on 23rd July 2022: Students learnt about changing sentences from Hindi to English. They had fun talking about commonly used sentences and enjoyed learning and speaking the English sentence for the same. Due to fumigation in school premises, students were taken to school grounds and played games like passing the ball and doing tasks given to them. They raced with each other on school tracks. They also danced freely on songs. The day was enjoyed outdoors with full fun and frolic.

  • Fun games activity was conducted (Single Leg jump, Frog Jump, Double Leg Jump)on 3rd August 2022: Students again got an opportunity to play in the school grounds and enjoyed playing various games.
  • Dictation was done in a quiz format of English and Hindi on 4th August 2022: Students were givendictation of words in English as well as Hindilanguage. These activities make learning fun and enjoyable. Students practiced words and learnt to spell out correctly.
  • “ISKCON” Panchkula organised Rangoli Competition on 6th August 2022 in which four Chetna Student participated and one child got the consolation prize in the competition: Four students participated in rangoli competition organised by ISKCON temple on 6th August on occasion of Shri Krishna Janamashtami.Sheetal from Chetna Vidyalaya won consolation prize in this competition.
  • Dance workshop was conducted by the Volunteers for the preparation of Independence Day Celebration from 10th August 2022 to 14th August 2022: Students learnt steps on patriotic song and practiced for days. They celebrated Independence Day with full enthusiasm in school auditorium on 15th August 2022 with all staff members of the school.
  • Play at Tagore Theatre on 31st August 2022: In collaboration with Chandigarh Sangeet Natak Academy, theatre artist Ms Malvika and school theatre teacher Ms Arpana trained 24 students of Vidyalaya through a series of workshops held over a period of a month and prepared a play “Tamasha”. This play was staged at Tagore Theatre, Sec 18 B, Chandigarh on 31st August 2022. Students got an opportunity to express creatively and hone their dramatic ability. The performers were blooming with confidence and happiness for their achievement. Each one was awarded a certificate of participation by the organisers.

  • Dance Workshop organised by Abhinaach (From Dance Academy Chandigarh) 2nd September 2022: A dance workshop was organised by Abhinaachin which the students learnt Bhangra steps. The exposure to dance and expressing freely made each and every child have fun while dancing.
  • On 5th September Chetna Students and Volunteers Celebrated Teachers’ Day: The students enjoyed celebrating Teachers; day with the volunteers and their teacher Ms Anju. They danced and sang songs. They also gifted hand made cards to their teacher.
  • DIY Art Workshopconducted on 9th September 2022 and a child Bhavya’s Birthday (Mrs. Swati’s Daughter) celebrated with Chetna Students : Students learnt making lanterns with coloured papers and also learnt to make decorative cards. Each one was excited to hone their creative ability. A staff member Ms Swati’s daughter’s birthday was celebrated with the students and they all discussed about their performance of play at Tagore theatre with principal ma’am. Ma’am also asked questions to instil curiosity in students about the colour of light that lamp would reflect.
  •  Motivational Movie“Nil BanateSanata”was shownto Chetna Studentson 14th& 15th September in school auditorium: This movie was shown to students to influence children to work hard and exceed in life.

  • Diwali Celebration with Chetna Students on 21st October 2022: Children celebrated Diwali with Teachers and Volunteers. Teachers explained the importance of Diwali, the festival spiritually signifies the victory of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, good over evil, and hope over despair. Children decorated diyas with colors and Rangoli. Teachers and students enjoyed the Diwali celebrations wholeheartedly.

  • On 14th November Chetna Students and Volunteers Celebrated Children’s Day: The student enjoyed the Children’s Day with the volunteers and their Teacher. They have learnt new skills like dot painting and perform various sports activities.They danced and sang songs.
  • Organised Sports Day on 25th and 26th NOVEMBER 2022: Chetna students participated in the Sports Day organised by Bhavan Vidyalaya, Panchkula. They have participated in various events like (50m dash, 50m One Leg Race, 50m Balancing the Book).

  • A trip to ChowkiDhani, Amravati Panchkula: 35 students of Chetna Vidyalaya and five teachers along with them were welcomed with Dhol and Tilak.Students were served with Refreshments like Chowmeen, Jeerapani& Pakoras).Students enjoyed the ride on Columbus and were non-stoppable on the dance floor. Students even went to BhulBuliya and watched magic show. The students had their lunch and Rajasthani delicacies were served where all thestudents relished all the dishes.
