Under the Project Veer Gatha initiated by The Ministry of Defence in collaboration with Ministry of Education, Bhavan Vidyalaya Panchkula organised an interactive session with Army Veteran and NSG Commander Brigadier Subhash Chander Rangi (Retired) Sena Medal, Vishisht Seva Medal. As an Army Officer for 35 years, he led peacekeeping operations at Africa and commanded the famous Kargil Brigade under hostile conditions and has been the Force Commander and the National Security Guard. He also led the Operation BLACK TORNADO in hotel Taj, Oberoi-Trident and Nariman House on November 26, 2008.
The session began with the welcome words by Col D S Cheema, Member of Bhavan’s Kendra Committee in which he inspired students to be responsible citizens of the country. Following which, Brig S C Rangi (Retd.) initiated the session by highlighting on the onset of Terror Attacks and the prompt actions taken by the Indian Forces. He narrated the whole story that captivated the interests of the Bhavanites through some heart-wrenching anecdotes. He also made the young generation understand the meaning of ‘Heroes’. He highlighted the need of grabbing the opportunities as they come their way and act wisely.
The interactive session raised the curiosity of the students to know more about the tales of valour from Brigadier S C Rangi which was followed by a Question Answer session.
The school Principal Mrs. Gulshan Kaur expressed her gratitude to Brigadier S C Rangi for motivating the students to choose a path of love towards nation and instil values of civic consciousness.
